AAP Guideline (≥35 wks)

• Isoimmune hemolytic disease, G6PD deficiency
• Sepsis
• Significant clinical instability in the previous 24 hours
• Serum albumin <3.0 g/dL

Preterm Weight-Based Guideline

A "sick" neonate is defined by:

• Rapidly rising TSB levels (>0.5 mg/dL/hr)
• Clinical instability, sepsis, or asphyxia

NICE Guideline

• Does not use a quantitative risk adjustment. Risk should be assessed qualitatively by the clinician.
